An inexpensive mask offers non-respiratory protection against coarse, non-toxic particles e.g. dusts and pollens i.e. nuisance dust below the Workplace Exposure Level (WEL), or to protect the end product from being contaminated by the mask user.

These masks do not provide respiratory protection against; fine, lung-damaging, toxic particulates, gases, vapours, pain spray etc.
