General Warnings (Agricultural Use):
- The Rockets are relatively fragile, and should be handled carefully to avoid breakage; it is recommended that the rockets are stored and carried in a robust, closed box.
- Never fire a damaged Rocket.
- The motor driving the Rocket produces flame and hot gases, so the Rocket should only be fired from a tube or rack placed well away from any inflammable materials such as dry grass.
- Angle the launcher towards the birds - the optimum, safe angle is 60° to the ground (Do not angle the launcher at less than 45° to the ground).
- Ensure that at least 600 feet of ground, clear of people, buildings, trees, haystacks or other obstructions is available from the firing point, in the direction of aim.
- Do not fire in high wind conditions, or where there is a risk of igniting dry crops. Unfired Rockets should be kept well away from firing point, and stored in a closed box to prevent accidental ignition.
- Rockets should be fired one at a time - the use of automatic multiple firing devices is not recommended.
Disposal: Disposal of damaged/unwanted Rockets is best achieved by soaking the whole rocket in water for at least 48 hours. After soaking, the resultant liquid can be poured away, and the remaining paper and stick disposed of with other rubbish.
Storage: Skybird Rockets, in common with all fireworks and pyrotechnics, should be stored in a cool dry place, well away from any source of ignition, flammable materials or other hazardous goods. A metal cabinet is ideal.
